Description
2002 Hatteras 63 Raised Pilothouse Motor Yacht
HUGH PRICE REDUCTION!!
From the Power Boat Guide, “Introduced in 2000, the sleek styling of the Hatteras 63 Pilothouse reflected the growing popularity of European motor yachts in the American market first seen in the mid-1990’s. Built on a modified-v hull with a wide 18’3” beam, prop pockets, and a relatively deep keel, the 63 is no lightweight compared with other yachts her size. While many Eurostyl pilothouse yachts have both the galley and dinette on the pilothouse level, the galley in the 63 is forward on the main deck level. With no obstructing bulkheads, visibility from the lower helm is excellent in all directions. The afterdeck is sheltered by the fully extended flybridge and a hatch in the sole provides access to the spacious engine room as well as the huge lazarette below.”
This particular 63 has stair access to the flybridge from the cockpit, was not available on earlier models.

About
2002 Hatteras 6300 Raised Pilothouse, DUE SOUTH
In the mid 1990s European motor yacht styling became extremely popular and influential for its sporty, modern sleek lines. The Hatteras 6300 Raised Pilothouse features a Eurostyle exterior design characterized by a sporty lower profile, sleek raked windshield, curves in exterior shapes and side windows. New features of the 2002 model included stairs from aft deck to the bridge and a single door from pilothouse helm to the starboard side deck (portside door was eliminated). Stainless-steel safety railings line both side decks from bow to aft deck with grab rails alongside the foredeck sunpad lounge area, above the pilothouse side door, and follow the curved aft deck sides down to the stern boarding/swim platform. The open flybridge features a radar arch, Bimini top over the forward section of bridge, and venturi-style windscreen. DUE SOUTH's flybridge is outfitted for entertainment with a wet bar and electric grill station, L-shaped cushioned seating with triangular table and two deck chairs.
Unlike most Raised Pilothouse layouts, the galley is on portside forward of the sumptuous salon with granite topped counters and beautifully finished cherrywood joinery and trim, including window valances that conceal the air-conditioning vents. The fully equipped galley features a half bulkhead forward with upper cabinetry built into the back of dinette L-shaped settee that is up 3 steps on the pilothouse deck, allowing the captain aft visibility. A floating staircase leads up to the bridge from the pilothouse; flybridge can also be accessed from the main aft deck via exterior stairs. The pilothouse helm console benefits from upgraded electronics including three Furuno Multiple Function Displays (MFD) integrated with the Garmin electronics.
The 63 RPH was a popular model for Hatteras having an excellent layout, spacious wide beam, and shallow draft (4’11”), thanks to her prop tunnels. Having big CAT 3412E 1400hp engines with 7-blade Nibral props means they never have to be pushed. Hull speed on the 63 RPH is about 10 knots for a fuel burn of 16-18 gph, and runs extremely stable and dry at hull speed, according to a review posted on YachtForum. Hatteras pioneered the modified V-hull with convex sides with early designs and innovations by legendary naval architect, Jack Hargrave, and continue to be engineered for precision, optimal power, and stable, comfortable performance in offshore conditions.
