Manufacturer Provided Description
The 44 Hardtop Express launched the next step in sportfisher design evolution for CABO Yachts, with the integration of a new hardtop - taking what was already a leader in fishability to another level. This exciting express is designed to be the most fishable CABO ever. Its innovative design and interior accommodations continue to meet the demands of its core market - serious offshore anglers.
Performance:
Like many of the latest CABOs to be introduced in the past few years, the foundation of the 44 Hardtop Express is its Michael Peters designed hull. From there, the propulsion design, electrical systems and attention to detail in every screw and hinge is executed in the same manner that built CABO's reputation for creating a rugged and efficient boat.
Fishability:
Careful planning and forethought go into the placement of every element in the cockpit - especially essentials such as the bait tank, tackle center and rod storage. Mezzanine seating provides a comfortable perch while watching the spread. Insulated fishboxes are molded into the sole and equipped with in-line macerators. Full-length piano hinges and rubber gaskets allow for a tight seal, to keep your catch fresher longer. Lures and rigging equipment are neatly organized, in a custom-designed tackle center at the rigging station. A number of additional options are also available.
Design and Construction:
The integrated hard top created an impressive new design unlike any CABO before it - utilizing its three-sided enclosure to offer better protection from the elements, improved visibility, and greater comfort on the helm deck. Below deck, the interior offers a comfortable living space equal in size to the 45 Express that it replaced, and larger than competitor's models in its range.
Accommodations:
While a 2-stateroom layout is standard on the 44 Hardtop Express, it can also be configured with a single stateroom and angler's room, or a 3-stateroom arrangement for those with larger crews. The standard second stateroom offers the comfort of private twin berths away from the master, while the optional anglers room layout features a display cabinet, custom rod racks, ample work surface, additional interior storage, and an open floor plan. The full-length, aft-facing galley counter allows easy access to appliances, while creating more floor space in the living/dining area. The master stateroom and shared head are forward of the main living area and offer the comfort and amenities in keeping with CABO's next generation of sportfishers.

About
2012 Cabo 44 HTX Hardtop Express
The Cabo 44 HTX is a superbly designed express sportfish built in New Bern, NC. The Michael Peters designed running bottom is solid fiberglass with prop tunnels that reduce shaft angle for greater efficiency, running gear protection, and a shallower draft. The sharp entry and variable deadrise give a stable ride that is especially great in head and following seas. The high flared bow and chines deflect spray away from foredeck and cockpit. The bow safety railing extends aft to the superstructure. PRESTIGE WORLDWIDE is equipped with two Seakeeper gyrostabilizers for complete roll stability when drifting in troughs or running rough seas. PRESTIGE WORLDWIDE features Cabo’s top power option of twin CAT C-18 ACERT 1015hp diesels with an ideal cruising speed of 29-30 knots and top speed of 37+ knots. She handles well with power steering, single lever controls, and updated Garmin electronics.
But the most significant feature of the Cabo 44 HTX is the factory-built and installed aluminum-reinforced composite hardtop that is sufficiently strong to support a tower—half or full, if desired. The front and side windshields that enclose the bridge deck on 3 sides, extend to the hardtop providing excellent visibility from the helm, even to the transom corners! The raised helm platform ensures that there are no other obstructions to the sightlines and meets ABYC visibility recommendations. Side windows open and overhead hatches provide plenty of ventilation. PRESTIGE WORLDWIDE also has a clear aft curtain with a zippered door that rolls up for added weather protection and climate control of the helm deck.
The hardtop overhang shades the cockpit’s mezzanine deck with seating for 5 and fitted with a bait freezer and two other insulated storage compartments. The mezzanine deck is curved to allow walkaround space behind the freestanding molded 6-rod rocket launcher with bait tray and 2 stainless-steel cupholders that is mounted on a stanchion in cockpit center. Additional rod holders are flush mounted in the cockpit side covering boards and deckhouse wings. PRESTIGE WORLDWIDE’s offshore fishing gear includes Rupp outriggers and a center rigger. A Miya Epoch US-9 electric teaser reel is mounted in a compartment in hardtop underside.
The belowdecks accommodations are smartly arranged to maximize living space with the well-equipped galley along the port aft bulkhead and the versatile L-shaped lounge and table doing double duty as dinette. The lounge also converts to a double bed when needed for extra guests or crew. PRESTIGE WORLDWIDE features the standard layout with master stateroom forward and guest stateroom aft on starboard side. Staterooms are separated by the head with stall shower. Master has private entrance to the head. A central vacuum hose is stowed under the steps to helm deck. The superb craftsmanship, beautifully finished book-matched teak cabinetry and paneling, and quality of materials, fixtures, and furnishings are comparable to that of a dedicated cruising yacht. The Cabo 44 HTX is designed and outfitted for serious offshore anglers, along with amenities for comfortable cruising.
